Book Review

Twelve leaders in early education share their professional, personal and political stories. As we read their stories we admire the courage and action for social justice that they all display. Their stories inspire all of us to continue acting on what we know as important in our professional and personal lives. Their stories influence us to think about and tell our stories because stories bring us together in our commonalities and celebrate our differences. As Iyania Vanzant says, “When you tell your story, you free yourself and give other people permission to acknowledge their own story.”

This book not only helps us get to know people in our field that we may not know about, but it also reminds us that we all have a story to tell.
