About the Workshop

Children today are constantly exposed to media, much of which includes violence that influences how they view the world and interact with others. As educators, it is essential to understand how this exposure impacts children’s stress, behavior, and overall development. This presentation will examine the effects of media violence and provide strategies to support children effectively.

What We Will Cover

In this session, we will explore the following topics, with opportunities for participants to share both challenges and successes:

  • Identify how media violence currently affects children’s development and well-being.

  • Recognize common signs of stress in children related to violent media exposure.

  • Apply strategies for responding to and reducing stress caused by media in young children.
