Using Zoom’s Language Interpretation feature, our workshop will be presented in both English and Spanish. Participants can choose their language choice once logged into the meeting. Simultaneous translation services generously provided by Child Care Business Institute.
About the Workshop
We will present a new way to look at the educator’s use of Power with children. We hope you will understand the different uses, and what is the educator’s role with children. We will look at why it is important then move to talking about Tools and Strategies to help children develop their understanding of power and develop their power Within. We look at all this through the concept of Growth Mindset.

Introduction to Growth Mindset - setting a foundation for positive mindset
Understanding the different uses of power
Mindfully using power in interactions in the classroom
Noticing differences
New Tools and Strategies for Monday morning

Teacher for over 50 years with multiple age groups. A Center Director and Director of Jane Addams Peace Camp 21 years. Presenter for EPCC 15 years. Specialist in Children’s Music and Peace Education.

PRESENTER
I am a retired early childhood professional who worked with and for young children over twenty-five years. I have been an infant/toddler teacher, prekindergarten teacher, a mentor teacher/coach, an instructor at the city college level, and a dedicated advocate for developmentally appropriate practices. Supporting those practices with Educators for Peace philosophies.
